The organizing committee of the World Medical Association (WMA) Scientific Session invited the PREZODE initiative to the 74^{th<\/sup> WMA General Assembly meeting that was held on Thursday October 5th<\/sup>\u00a0 2023 in Kigali. Professor Musso Munyeme, the Chairperson of the PREZODE steering Committee was one of the speakers during the scientific session.

The Scientific session’s theme, was “Global Health Security<\/strong>.” The PREZODE initiative was invited in the spirit of collaboration and One Health, especially in the midst of continuous pandemic outbreaks.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PREZODE was presented under the Second Session of the Scientific Session moderated by Prof Eustache<\/strong>.\u00a0 The three speakers who also formed the discussion panel to answer questions from the audience consisted of Dr Helen Chapman<\/strong>, Prof Musso Munyeme <\/strong>[PREZODE] and Prof Ian Gilmore.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne Health Networking as a pre-emptive and sustainable option in Fighting Emerging Pandemics.<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

PREZODE presentation was titled: \u201cOne Health Networking as a pre-emptive and sustainable option in Fighting Emerging Pandemics.<\/strong>\u201d. The discussion points, as well as the presentation, were anchored on five (5) talking points, which were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Control of future Pandemics is informed by past outbreaks\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
2. Networking within and across multi-sectoral disciplines<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
3. Resource saving through a multisectoral and collaborative approach\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
4. One health networks,<\/em> such as PREZODE, are creating stronger, well-informed international multisectoral teams. This highlighted the PREZODE initiative and what it is.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
5. Networking should result in a <\/em>strengthened & well-informed response<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
